What is the feeding schedule for 3.0 soil?Updated an hour ago
3.0 is a fully amended living soil, so most growers use plain water for most of the run and top dress as the plant grows. Our feeding schedule is optional. Start water-only if you are new.
When supplemental feeding helps
- A big plant in a smaller container, where the soil cannot carry it the whole way
- A commercial grow that needs consistent, repeatable inputs
- Fine-tuning for the last bit of quality and yield
The basic top dress
For a 15 gallon pot or EarthBox, the standard top dress is 1/4 cup of Craft Blend per plant with about 1 gallon of BuildAFlower compost on top. A good time to repeat it is right at the start of flower, or whenever feeder roots show up at the surface.
Using the supplemental schedule
- The schedule lists each product's rate per gallon of water by stage: seedling, veg, pre-bloom, bloom stretch, full bloom, and ripening.
- Follow it once per week. You can mix it into one watering or split it across waterings.
- Less is more. Do not keep feeding just because the chart says so.
- If the soil is overwatered, stop feeding and focus on letting it dry back.
- Use half strength in recently amended beds.
